No, Weldbrush machines have a 100% duty cycle, meaning you can work continuously at the highest setting without the unit thermally overheating or switching off.

The Weldbrush 300 has 2 functions: Electrolytic weld cleaning and marking of stainless steel.
The Weldbrush 500 and Weldbrush 700 have 4 functions: Electrolytic weld cleaning, marking, polishing and plating of stainless steel.
The Weldbrush 1000 will perform all of the above and will also clean and passivate stainless surfaces, when used in conjunction with a surface passivation set.

The Weldbrush 300 is the base model and is especially popular for cleaning smaller TIG welds or marking stainless.
If you're looking to clean a bigger or heavier weld, our most popular model, the Weldbrush 500, is ideal for removing discolouration non-aggressively and immediately passivates the stainless whilst cleaning.
The 700 model is the fastest and most advanced unit within the Weldbrush range, with a high-power output which handles the heaviest work with ease. It will remove discolouration and passivate the stainless in one step, with a weight of only 8.5kg, which makes working on location very easy.

No, passivation and pickling are not the same.
Pickling is a chemical process that removes oxides, scale and contaminants from metal surfaces, using very strong acids like nitric or hydrofluoric acid. These strong acids will temporarily remove these contaminants, yet also corrode the stainless due to their strength, leaving it open to more impurities.
Passivation, on the other hand, enhances the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel by drawing the chromium back to the surface to form a protective oxide layer. Weldbrush machines will clean and passivate stainless in one movement, ensuring that the weld remains clean and free from future impurities.
